Athens, GA Spring Engagement Portrait

I had the honor to photograph this loving couple for their Spring engagement portraits a couple of days ago. I chose a location that had flowering bradford pear trees still in bloom, trails, boulders, and a bridge over spring fed stream. This gave us a lot of variety in one place, which worked out nicely.

These two are getting married in Savannah next Spring and will be residing here in the Athens, GA area with their sweet dog. They love traveling and the spending time outdoors. I bet where ever they decide to honeymoon will be in a beautiful location where they will make many memories as they start the next chapter of their lives. I loved watching these two together as they just exude love. The way they look at each other really shows how much they mean to each other and how they absolutely adore the other. I hope everyone feels as loved as these two do. It truly is something special.

I love the red dress the bride-to-be wore for the first half of their engagement portrait session. It really popped in the finished portraits and fit her perfectly. Her fiancé picked a sport coat with a button down shirt and jeans, which was very fitting for the occasion. Great example of what to wear for a couple’s photo session during this time of year.

Congratulations to these two on their engagement and for their upcoming wedding. Such an exciting time! I know their wedding day will be filled with love and joy. Cannot wait to see what their future holds!

This is my sweet baby girl. She is obviously not a baby anymore, but rather a beautiful young lady, but she will ALWAYS be MY baby. I am sure all parents can relate.

Lily is why I do what I do. Before I got pregnant, I was a video producer with some crazy hours. When I found out I was expecting, my husband and I looked into childcare options, but weren`t having much luck finding what we needed. My heart was telling me to be with my daughter. I didn`t want to miss out on anything. My plan was to freelance, but the hours honestly weren`t much different, so I decided to stay home with my baby girl.

I had always done photography on the side. Early on, I did photo journalism, but then switched over to doing it as a hobby once I started my career in video. I worked for a photographer for a short time in college who had her studio in her home and always thought that would be perfect for when I had my own family. So, that is exactly what I set my mind to once I made the decision to quit the video world. As a mom, it would allow me to set my own goals, hours and run things the way I wanted.

Owning my own business has been such a blessing! I get to be there for my daughter and family while feeding into my passion for photography. It gives me such freedom and makes my heart sing with every session I do. Love documenting important moments for my clients throughout their journey of life. Such an honor and something that I don`t take lightly.

Thank you Lily for leading me down this path and allowing me to do what I am truly passionate about. Getting pregnant with you was the push I needed to make my dreams a reality.

You know when people say that if you do what you love, you never work a day in your life? I can attest that is very true. It is what I hope for my daughter and all of you!
