Athens, GA Infant Pictures | One Month Old

I don’t believe that you can ONLY do infant pictures within the first couple weeks of life. Yes, sometimes that is what works best for those super curled up shots as if the baby is still in the womb, but if you miss that timeframe, it is truly OK. Some of my favorite portraits are of infants that are four to six weeks old. I love getting those wide eyed images and those peaceful sleeping photos as well.

This little man here was about a month old when I photographed him. He was perfect! He did not want to be messed with too much, so after we set him down, I let him just be and let him do his thing. At first, he was wide awake and a bit squirmy, but then he settled and eventually fell into a slumber. I love how he is looking into the camera here. Such a peaceful and look! Oh, and I cannot get enough of his hair! It is perfectly styled on its own.

Mom selected the most precious outfit for her little man. Such a classic piece that will never go out of style while keeping the focus on the most important thing in the images – her baby boy! I really adore how mom’s dress their infants here in the South. Great example of what to wear for infant pictures.

There’s a reason I plan my sessions for the edges of the day. Right before sunrise and just before sunset, the sun sits low on the horizon, wrapping everything in soft, golden light. It’s flattering, gentle on skin tones, and creates that dreamy glow you simply can’t replicate at noon. The wind calms, the beach feels peaceful, and the magic naturally unfolds.

This sweet mother-daughter moment was captured on Jekyll Island at Driftwood Beach just as the sun was rising — when the sky turns pastel and the reflections shimmer along the shoreline.

When you trust the light, you get images that feel timeless, effortless, and full of heart.
